Sin Vacas

Sin Vacas, also known under its former Ranch name “Rancho Sin Vacas” translated meaning, “Ranch Without Cows”, is a 236-lot subdivision, developed by Kelly Rollings, as well as The Estes Company, who purchased a portion of the land from Rollings in 1977, all of whom recognized the unique character of the land and its lush vegetation, set out to develop a luxury community within the rolling hills of the Catalinas.

The history of the land dates back to 1853, following the Gadsden Purchase, and was part of Arizona, New Mexico Territory. After several transactions occurred in 1928 and 1929, the property was sold to Jack Holliday, a Steel manufacturer from Indianapolis, who purchased the land from Pima Canyon Partners and was utilized as his winter residence.

Upon Holliday’s death, the land was purchased by local developer Kelly Rollings, who subsequently sold off the majority of Sin Vacas to The Estes Company.

Today, Sin Vacas remains one of the premier communities within the Catalina Foothills, representing some of the finest homesites and builders throughout the Tucson region.
